Welcome! Interested in learning guitar? Looking at your guitar gathering dust in the corner? Then you’ve come to the right place.
Our beginner group lessons are designed to introduce you to the world of guitar one step at a time. We ensure that you get the basics right while having fun with the whole process.
These classes are tailored for all age groups so it’s never too late to pick up a guitar and learn to play. Our beginner classes are focused in getting your finger strength developed and learning songs that you want to play. With time and patience you’ll be playing in no time with learntorock.ie!
You’ll be provided with all the materials you need to get rocking including chord sheets, tabs & songs sheets with extensive notes for reference.
Your Tutor
Hi, my name is Kevin. I’ll be your guitar tutor.
I’ve been playing guitar for over 15 years and have lots of experience in the gigging scene, playing in iconic venues such as Whelan’s, Cyprus Avenue, Roisin Dubh, Dolan’s and Indiependence.
I’m heavily involved in the composition of modern rock music, having written/co-written singles recently played on Today FM / 2FM / RED FM / Cork’s 96FM / & many more.
I’ve been teaching for years and helped up to 100 students start their guitar journey. I focus on why you wanted to learn guitar and build our lessons plan around your goals. I’m looking forward to seeing you soon! 🙂
Requirements
To start rocking, we’ll need to make sure you have access to the following:
- An acoustic or electric guitar with all six strings. (Feel free to get in touch if you’re missing a string and I can send some info on getting it fixed)
- A computer with a good internet connection to take part in a Zoom video call. For recommended requirements for Zoom visit here
- A set of headphones or earphones are optional but recommended
- A guitar tuner or access to a smartphone where you can use free guitar tuner apps. I recommend using Guitar Tuna for iOs & Android

Once you book a lesson, we’ll reach out to you to confirm a date & time that suits for the lessons. Once confirmed you’ll receive a Zoom link where our lesson takes place and your journey into the world of guitar begins!
